AML 90 & Eland Armored Car SAYMAR Ltd. has developed an upgrading kit for the AML-90 type 245 and 246 and for the ELAND, Which improves the vehicle capabilities, extends the vehicle operational life, and enables the extended use of an existing fleet among other state of the art military vehicles.

The upgrading kit includes replacement of the original engine by a more powerful and popular TOYOTA 2LT Diesel engine, new and modernized electrical system, new braking system (disc brakes on all 4 wheels), new hydraulic assisted power steering, new lighting system and much more.

SAYMAR Ltd. has the engineering know-how and the industrial and logistic capabilities to perform such an upgrading program in its own plant or in the customer's facilities.

New major systems installed in the upgrading process:

Engine Installation of a new Diesel engine provides the following assets:

• Commercially available engine, improves availability of maintenance and logistics
• Diesel is less flammable then gasoline, thus increasing the
  vehicle safety and survivability
• Reduced operational costs and maintenance

Electrical System The state of the art system designed to overcome operating and maintenance problems encountered with the original system. The improved electrical system meets the requirements of the modernized vehicles (using Diesel fuel).

Braking System The new braking system is designed to be more powerful and to match the increased speed of the modernized AML.
The new braking system is based on disk for all four wheels.

Steering System The original steering system is being upgraded by a hydraulic powered system. The system works on hydraulic pressure and enables easy and accurate steering.
